Applicants are invited to apply for a Scholarship to attend the 2018 ULI Carolinas’ Meeting in Greenville, SC on February 12-13. The purpose of the scholarship is to introduce public sector or nonprofit employees, elected officials and appointed officials to the ULI experience, and retain their participation to create a more complete shared learning experience across all sectors of our industry.

Description
The scholarship offers a one-time opportunity for public sector who have sufficient professional experience to attend the 2018 ULI Carolinas’ Meeting in Greenville, SC. The scholarship will cover the Meeting registration fee.  All travel and ticketed event costs are the responsibility of the individual.

Eligible Participants
Applicants employed by nonprofits, local, county, state, and federal government, elected or appointed public officials from throughout North and South Carolina. ULI membership is not required but highly encouraged.

Expectations
Scholarship winners will be expected to attend ULI Carolinas’ Meeting and submit a short event summary about one or more sessions attended. This scholarship will cover the cost of registration – recipients will be responsible for your own transportation, lodging and travel expenses. Up to three scholarships will be awarded, 1 per District Council region (ULI Charlotte – Western and Piedmont of NC, ULI Triangle – Eastern NC, and ULI South Carolina).

Following the Meeting, winners are expected to write an essay about the sessions and speakers at the Meeting, which may be posted on the ULI website (200-500 words and submitted by February 28, 2018).

Young Leaders

Young Leaders (under 35 years of age), from throughout the Carolinas, are invited to apply for a Scholarship to attend the 2018 ULI Carolinas’ Meeting in Greenville, SC on February 12-13. The purpose of the program is to support the professional development of Young Leaders through participation in the Carolinas’ Meeting, and to advance the mission of the Young leaders, which is to serve the greater ULI mission by educating and engaging a diverse group of real estate professionals through ensuring continuous educational development, sharing best practices, exposure to industry leaders and fostering an environment conducive to creating and maintaining lasting relationships.

The scholarships will be awarded for the 2018 ULI Carolinas’ Meeting to members who fit the following criteria:

The scholarship will include a complimentary registration and up to $225 expense reimbursement for transportation and lodging. Winners will be recognized during the Meeting and will be paired with a mentor to assist them in navigating the Meeting experience. In addition, winners will meet at the welcome lunch with other scholarship recipients. Following the Meeting, winners are expected to write an essay about their experiences, which may be posted on the ULI website (200-500 words and submitted by February 28, 2018).
