Over the years, Durham has transformed itself from the Bull City to the City of Medicine to, now, a leader in innovation. Nowhere is this transformation more apparent than downtown, where life science labs and tech hubs occupy former tobacco warehouses and textile mills. Four elements have been critical in this transformation: proximate major universities, readily available startup space, strategic private development and organic cultivated experiences that foster new ideas and connections. Hear from the leaders who have guided this incredible growth and learn why we are all bullish on Durham.
TOUR DETAILS: Badge pickup and lunch is included begins at noon at the American Tobacco Campus in Durham in the Cotton Room @ Golden Belt (807 E. Main St., Building 2, Room 350, Durham, NC 27701). Welcome by Brenda Howerton, Durham County Commission Chair & Mark Anthony Middleton, City of Durham Mayor Pro Tempore and Overview of the Golden Belt Redevelopment—Justin Sacco, Vice President, Portfolio Asset Manager for LRC Properties.
Please wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather, as the tour includes walking. Following the lunch presentation, buses will depart from and return to the American Tobacco Campus.
